Step One

Visualise your dreams with a dream board

When there’s so much going on in the present, it’s sometimes difficult to step back and take a look at the ‘big picture’ of why you came to Singapore in the first place and how you want your life to be when you return home for good.

Putting your dreams on paper (or screen!) will help remind you of why you came here, and it’s an important first step in setting a savings goal.

Create a dream board

Visualise your dreams by creating a dream board! It’s easy, fun and can help inspire and motivate you to reach your future goals!

There are so many different ways to create your dream board – check out the variety of the examples we provided!

You can simply write down your goals or if you’re feeling creative, you can draw them, cut out pictures from magazines, use your own photos, use Canva or Pinterest, or even paint them!

Here’s how!

There are so many different ways to create your dream board. You can simply write down your goals or if you’re feeling creative, you can draw them, cut out pictures from magazines, use your own photos, use Canva or Pinterest, or even paint them!

1. Close your eyes…

Visualise your future goals (you may feel a little silly, but we promise you, closing your eyes will help you focus!).

2. Add goals to your board…

Think of them as ‘life goals’, so some goals can be dreams that you would like to achieve in 2 years time, others in 5 years, others in 10 and maybe even some in 20 years time. Be as specific as you can.

Now…

1. Keep your board in a place where you can see it daily.

When you wake up in the morning or go to bed at night (or both!), look at your future goals… you could even whisper a motivational mantra to yourself, like ‘I will do this’!

2. Share your dream board with those closest to you.

Show your family, friends, employer what you plan to achieve and discuss the important role they’ll play in helping you accomplish your dreams.

3. Share it with the Aidha community and inspire others.

Why not also share your dream board with the Aidha community to help inspire and motivate other women to start planning for their futures too?
