Aidha’s Annual Unspoken Life Photography Exhibition 2020

Do you enjoy capturing the world around you? Share your view of the world with us and join Aidha’s 4th annual photography competition that is open to all foreign domestic workers in Singapore!

Stand a chance to win up to $500 for the grand prize winner and have your photos featured at our upcoming exhibition in June 2020!

Unspoken Life seeks to delve beneath the labels and unfurl the many selves of foreign domestic workers often unseen by Singapore society. As part of our celebration of International Domestic Workers’ Day 2020, this exhibition will celebrate the strength, courage and creativity of FDWs here seeking a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Exhibition Categories

There will be three categories for the exhibition. All category finalists will be exhibited at our public exhibition in March. Category winners as well as a ‘People’s Choice’ winner (selected by visitors to the exhibition) will each receive $250. The overall grand prize winner can come from any of the categories and will receive $500!

1. SHINING A LIGHT

In this category, we want to explore the narratives of the unseen and often overlooked. The photographs should shed a light on those behind-the-scenes and their importance to our lives, whether they are objects, people, aspects of our natural world etc.

2. BEAUTY IN DIVERSITY

This category focuses on the different cultures, experiences and voices found in Singapore. Where do you see beauty in diversity?

3. EMPOWHERMENT

Coming to Aidha is not only about learning to manage your money, it is about empowering you to meet the goals you set for yourself, empowering you to believe in yourself. What does empowerment mean to you, how has it changed your life, what does it look like?
(Only open to Aidha students/alumni)
