aidha’s certificate in entrepreneurship

aidha offers a certificate in entrepreneurship that empowers our students to take control of their finances and build a sustainable future for their families. The programme consists of 2 modules:

module 1: finance & technology

In the first module, students take 3 courses:

1. financial compass club

In the Compass Clubs, students learn to budget, plan, and save. It’s difficult for students to save money when they have to send money home every month. But with the support of friends, our students meet their savings goals and make productive investments in cows, farm tools, taxis, and pigs for their families’ future. On average, our students in our compass clubs save 50% of their monthly income!

2. leadership club

In the leadership club, students learn communication and management skills. They learn by doing: in every session, students stand up in front of their classmates to give impromptu or prepared speeches on a variety of management topics. The club is a great opportunity for them to build self-confidence and presentation skills, and learn about managing a team in a safe environment.

3. technology workshops

In 18 hands-on sessions, students learn and improve their computer skills. Whether they have touched a computer before or not, there is certainly something for everyone to learn in aidha’s technology workshops. We go through the basics of Microsoft Office and the internet, and then move on to advanced sessions like creating databases, designing sales material, and writing business correspondence. Each student has her own computer during the class, and there are only 5 students in a class.

module 2: entrepreneurship & business management

In the second module, the students take two courses;

1. venture club

In the exciting venture clubs, students learn how to start and manage an entrepreneurial business. How can you start with just a little money? How do you deal with customers and competitors? How do you ensure healthy cash flow? They learn all this and more in this powerful course, and write their own business plan.

2. advanced leadership club

In our advanced leadership club sessions, students explore business and management topics in depth. They practice what they learn by delivering formal presentations and by honing the ideas in their own business plans.

how the classes work

Students complete both modules to earn the Certificate in Entrepreneurship.
Each module consists of 18 sessions. Sessions are held on two Sundays a month (1^st & 3^rd Sundays OR 2^nd & 4^th Sundays).
Each session is 3 hours long, and there are morning or afternoon sessions.
Students can finish the entire programme, (i.e. modules 1 and 2) in just over a year (13 months). We offer an accelerated programme for serious students who want to dive deep into the programme: if they are ready, they can start their 2^nd module after completing 4 sessions of the 1^st module. But if they prefer a more leisurely pace, they can take the programme one module at a time.

payment options

There are 3 payment options. Students may:

Register for both modules at once. Committed students who register for both modules upfront are eligible for a heavily discounted price of $550 at time of registration, or within one month of the class start date.
Register for module 1 & 2 separately. Students who prefer to take it one step at a time can pay a heavily subsidized rate of $350 per module at time of registration, or within one month of the class start date.
Register for module 1 & 2 separately. If students are unable to pay a lump sum for their course, they may make 6 easy installment payments of $75/month. The first installment is to be paid at the time of registration.
