our computing workshops

At aidha, computing is not something we study. We learn by doing. Our computing workshops are 90-minute hands-on sessions.

The workshops are small. Each workshop hosts five students, each of whom is provided with her own internet-connected computer. There’s no need for sharing.

Our series includes 18 unique sessions. Each one introduces a new tool or software programme. Each one develops real skill.

The sessions are integrated. They build on and reinforce each other. At the end of the series, each student will have:

• strong keyboarding skills
• familiarity and skill with WORD, EXCEL, and Powerpoint
• competence and capability navigating the World Wide Web
• a personalized aidha email account
• familiarity and experience with Facebook and other social media
• experience uploading and manipulating photos
• familiarity with database management
• familiarity and skill with internet communications tools, and
• understanding and competence in using Google Apps.

Most importantly, every student will leave this workshop series with a true understanding of how to use computing technologies not just for social reasons but also for practical business purposes.
