Appointment of Karen Fernandez as aidha CEO

Dear friends and supporters of aidha,

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Fernandez as aidha’s new Chief Executive Officer, with effect from 2 January 2014.

Since 2006, aidha has been committed to empowering and educating lower income and migrant workers to transform their lives through sustainable wealth creation. Through our financial, IT, and confidence building programmes, we help our students gain crucial financial and business skills to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Karen, who is Singaporean, has worked in Singapore, US and UK and brings a wealth of experience from both the corporate and non-profit worlds. Since returning home to Singapore last year, she was Chief Executive Officer at Make A Wish Singapore. Prior to that, she held senior management positions at non-profit organizations, Dress for Success (Houston) and Asia Society (Texas). Her corporate career includes PR and communication roles at FleishmanHillard (US) and Montpellier Group (UK), and several training and consultancy positions (UK and Singapore). Karen is a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK). She also served as a Board member on the Archaeological Institute of America (Houston). She holds an Honours degree in History from the National University of Singapore and a teaching diploma from the Institute of Education, Singapore.

With Karen’s experience and passion, our Board is confident that she will help steer aidha to greater heights and enable us to positively impact more of the students we serve.

We appreciate your continued support of aidha and our mission to empower more lower income and migrant workers.

Sincerely,

Claudine Lim
Chairman of the Board
