aidha’s money programmes
aidha believes in action learning. It is not about schoolbook learning. We work to build savings. In aidha’s programmes, students realise the capability and confidence to seize control of their money, and their lives.
Since our launch in 2006, aidha has worked with thousands of impoverished and low-income individuals. We know that textbook learning alone cannot inspire action. Our students materials are sophisticated, but it’s the delivery approach that makes our programmes different.
- They promote goal-setting and goal-commitment.
- They leverage peer support and solidarity.
- They use reward to reinforce behavioural change.
- They build real savings.
- They encourage ‘productive’ investment.
- They empower.
Students in aidha’s Singapore programmes save, on average, almost 50% of their monthly income while in our programme. But their saving doesn’t stop when the programme ends. For aidha’s students, saving becomes a habit.
These students are slowly building a life free from poverty.
We call that success.
