about the Money Circles

Man or woman, young or old, rich or poor, working or not . . . everyone needs money skills.

aidha’s Money Circles serve working adults in Singapore.   This powerful action learning programme ensures that every member can enjoy a well-managed today and a secure retirement tomorrow.

Like our Compass Clubs, aidha’s Money Circles are peer support groups.  Circle members come together once a month for nine months in 90-minute sessions.  Led by their mentor, members analyse best practice in personal money management.  Then, they apply it.

It is an intensive programme that works.  At the conclusion of their programme,  each of our Circle members will have developed:

  • vital recordkeeping systems
  • personal balance sheets & statements of net worth
  • practical family budgets
  • clear retirement & other savings goals
  • a hands-on understanding of their Central Provident Fund accounts & services
  • personal investment strategies
  • robust investment portfolios, and
  • revamped insurance portfolios & emergency savings accounts.

Most importantly, they will have developed the insight and routines to bring their finances under control, both now and in the future.

Read mentor Nicholas Smalle’s first impressions of the Money Circle presently running for employees of the Hospice Care Association (Singapore):

“A glance around the Blue Money Circle revealed the typical Singaporean demographic.  The eight people in the room spanned four decades, 4 countries and 3 ethnic groups. In fact the only thing we had in common was the fact that we were all men, and all eager to gain an understanding of how to better manage our money.  The first steps to financial freedom would be provided by us the mentors and aidha, building a strong foundation in key areas of personal finance – e.g. CPF investments, budgeting & insurance, which are just a small fraction of the programme.

However, the true benefit would come from interaction among the blue money circle members: our more mature individuals providing advice to the younger ones on the value of saving early; the more market savvy discussing their use of investments to the uninitiated; and each individual within the group supporting one another to reach their own personal version of financial independence.  Although another 7 months remain for this group of individuals, success has been ensured by the strong content from aidha and a group of eager learners!”
