aidha’s leaders draw upon rich careers in academia and finance to forward aidha’s research, programme development, and client service activity.
Veronica Gamez, executive director. A native of Mexico, Veronica is dedicated to promoting women’s economic empowerment through education. She left the corporate world in 2008 to become aidha’s executive director. Previously, she worked with Credit Suisse (CS) and The Boston Consulting Group in Singapore, London & Mexico. She earned her BA with Honours (Finance) from Cass Business School and her MBA at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Sarah Mavrinac, president. Sarah, a former academic, left her faculty position at INSEAD to spearhead aidha in 2006. With a doctorate earned from the Harvard Business School, she is a committed advocate of financial education and economic empowerment. For her work with aidha, Sarah was named Singapore’s International Woman of the Year in 2007. In 2008, she received the Singapore Social Entrepreneur of the Year award from the World Economic Forum’s Schwab Foundation.
Anne-Valérie Ohlsson, director, partnerships & outreach. Until 2010 when she joined aidha, Anne-Valérie worked in executive education at IMD, the International Institute for Management in Switzerland, honing her expertise in entrepreneurship, corporate strategy and leadership. She has authored a variety of academic articles and case studies as well as business books, most recently on entrepreneurship. She holds an MBA from the University of Geneva, and has lived in Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
